CONFIDENT & REFINED
Dearrick Jay is a creative director and atmosphere designer. His work spans interiors, florals, brand moments, and curated experiences - always with a singular focus: how it makes people feel.

This private estate wedding was held at Fox & Bear Lodge, a boutique hotel built in 1831 and lovingly restored to honor its historic roots. Designed for a September celebration, the vision deliberately steered away from fall clichés, embracing instead the vibrant energy of late summer — a final burst of color before the season turned.

CELEBRATION OF LOVE
The inaugural chandelier dinner at Fox & Bear Lodge marked more than a beautiful evening — it marked a beginning. That year, Dearrick Jay launched a scholarship for a local LGBTQ high school student in the performing arts, and the event exceeded its fundraising goals beyond expectation.
Just as importantly, it helped establish Fox & Bear Lodge as a space of safety, creativity, and inclusion — a place where chosen family could gather and be seen. Under the canopy of trees and candlelight, a new tradition was born: one rooted in purpose, community, and light.

IN PERFECT CONTRAST
Designed for two close friends, both born under the sign of Gemini, this birthday celebration embraced the elegance of duality. A black and white palette was chosen as a reflection of the friends' signature style — an effortless devotion to black — subtly softened by the addition of white peonies, grown in the designer’s private garden. The result was an evening that balanced boldness and grace, style and intimacy, in perfect contrast.

HERITAGE & GRACE
Drawing inspiration from the elegance and strength of equestrian culture, this wedding was designed with subtle references to tradition — translated through a lens of modern refinement. Leather, linen, and natural textures created a setting that was both grounded and gracefully luxurious.
